Vault (vault.miguelmartens.com) is a private, invite-only document storage service operated by Miguel Martens. It is designed for the secure storage of personal documents such as travel documents, insurance policies, and identification.
Access is granted by invitation only. By accepting an invitation and creating an account, you agree to these terms. Accounts may not be shared, transferred, or used by anyone other than the person the invitation was issued to.
The operator reserves the right to revoke access at any time for any reason, including but not limited to misuse, inactivity, or closure of the service.
You retain full ownership of all documents and data you upload. By uploading content you confirm that you have the right to store it and that it does not violate any applicable law.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. The operator makes no guarantee of data availability or retention.
Documents are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before being uploaded. The encryption key is derived from your password using PBKDF2 and is never transmitted to the server. The operator cannot access the contents of encrypted documents.
While strong security measures are in place, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password and second-factor credentials safe. If you lose your password there is no recovery mechanism for encrypted documents.

This service runs on Supabase's free tier with a 1 GB storage limit. If usage approaches this limit the operator may contact you to request deletion of documents or may suspend uploads until space is freed.
This service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The operator does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including loss of data.
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be communicated via email where possible.
